Proteum on the water (road) during May
Proteum recently participated in a mini roadshow, exhibiting at the Aquaculture Show in Aviemore and the Farndon Marina Open Weekend. Simon Barnett, Sales Manager at Proteum, emphasised that these events provided an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about the OXE Marine diesel range of outboards.
During the Aquaculture Show, Proteum had the opportunity to speak to Fish Farm Managers and Commercial Operators about their requirements. Conversations were about the benefits, including cost saving, of migrating from a petrol-powered outboard to a diesel or HVO-powered alternative. With OXE’s successful operation for several years, vessel operatives’ confidence in the OXE brand and technology is growing exponentially.
During the Farndon Marina open weekend, Proteum launched their 2024 demonstration boat, a unique vessel made from HDPE in collaboration with Bulldog Boats. The Bulldog 7.80-meter workboat combined with the OXE 300hp diesel outboard was the centrepiece of the on-water trails. The main discussion areas during the event were the boat’s performance and the fuel economy of the OXE 300hp diesel outboard. At 16 knots, the fuel consumption was a thrifty 16Lph; at 25 knots, it was 25Lph, significantly better than petrol outboards, which could lead to substantial cost savings for vessel operators.
Proteum’s next big event is the annual Seawork Exhibition, held in June. This is the largest on-water commercial marine and workboat exhibition, and we’re thrilled to continue our collaboration with Bulldog Boats. We can’t wait to see you there and share our latest innovations!
